Nutty Golden Syrup Cookies

Ingredients for 36 cookies:
•    175g golden syrup
•    100g Président Unsalted Butter
•    1 egg
•    175g wholemeal self raising flour
•    150g chopped almonds
•    Store Cupboard - 50g caster sugar

Preheat the oven to 160°C/300°F/Gas Mark 2.
Grease 3 Pyrex Non-Stick Oven Trays.
Cream the butter, sugar and golden syrup together until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg.
Sift the flour and lightly beat into the mixture then fold in chopped almonds.
Place small spoonfuls of the mixture onto the oven trays, allowing plenty of room for them to spread (6 spoonfuls per tray).
Bake in the oven for 9 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to firm slightly before transferring onto a wire rack.
Repeat the last 2 steps with the remaining mixture.
